On the twelfth of April, 1961, Soviet cosmonaut and pilot Yuri Gagarin made history as the first person ever to venture away from this planet and into space. Nearly two hours later, his space capsule (Volstok 1) landed in the Saratov region of Kazakhstan, marking an important Soviet win in the space race.
It is now 2021 - over 60 years later, the world is still reeling from the covid-19 pandemic when, in the skies above the Khvalynsk hills, Vostok 1 is spotted entering the atmosphere, again. A capsule that is currently on display in a Moscow museum...
